Conference & Banqueting Manager

We are looking to recruit a Conference and Banqueting Manager, acting as Operations Manager but specifically responsible for overseeing the Conference & Banqueting department.

The ideal candidate will have similar experience in a hotel in a managerial position. You will have strong customer service skills, work well under pressure and be dependable.

Responsibilities:

Conference & Banqueting Operations:

  • To oversee the smooth and efficient running of all conference & banqueting events whilst on duty.
  • Monitor staffing levels / rotas in accordance with business demands.
  • Liaise with other relevant departments to ensure the floor team are fully briefed of any last-minute amendments to events.
  • Ensure bars are adequately stocked in advance of events.
  • Meet and greet all clients / event organisers and ensure courtesy checks are made throughout.
  • Ensure rooms are broken down and Night Team briefed following events.

Duty Manager:

  • To act as Duty Manager in accordance with the management rota, i.e. the person responsible for the whole Hotel’s operations at that time.
  • Ensure detailed handovers take place with Late Manager / Night Team / rest of Management Team as appropriate.
  • Check all public areas.
  • Check on each department recording any sickness / issues / complaints.
  • Ensure you are fully briefed of the days business.
  • Meet and greet event organisers while on duty.
  • Attend morning meeting.
  • Assist F&B outlets with lunch / breakfast / afternoon tea service as necessary.
  • Assist Reception if busy check in / check out.
  • To deal with all customer and guest comments or complaints and do your best to resolve them while the guest is still at the hotel.
  • Further checks on public areas / outside areas.

General:

  • To provide effective and efficient communication between all departments in the hotel.
  • To abide by and adhere to all the Hotel Rules as set out in the staff handbook.
  • To report any grievances, complaints or any work-related situations that may affect the operation of the Department.
  • To carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by senior management.

Communication:

  • To attend and actively contribute towards monthly management meetings
  • To ensure all relevant information about guests is passed on to the appropriate department in a timely manner

Health & Safety:

  • To maintain hygiene standards at all times whilst cleaning any areas in your department
  • To adhere to any cleaning rotas and to sign them off when completed
  • To attend all legally required training courses.
    To advise your Health & Safety representative of any concerns

Hotel Receptionist

We are looking to appoint Hotel Receptionists to help assist in the running of our busy front desk.

This is a full time position working 5 days out of 7 including some weekends on a rotational basis, and shift patterns vary and are usually early or late.

  • Ensuring the smooth day to day running of the reception desk.
  • Welcoming guests with a friendly face at all times and checking them in and out of the hotel
  • First point of contact for all enquiries via telephone, email and face to face.
  • Processing room reservations into the hotel system.
  • Liaison with all other internal departments, distributing calls etc.
  • Handling customer feedback/complaints as required.

The chosen candidate must display a strong work ethic, be a team player with a genuine passion for offering 5 star customer service.

Whilst previous experience is advantageous, it is not essential as full training will be given.

Leisure Receptionist (30 hrs)

The Spa is a 70 bedroom family run 4 star hotel situated in Royal Tunbridge Wells.

The Spa Hotel is looking for an enthusiastic Leisure Receptionist to join our Leisure team on a Part Time. The SpaSpa offers the very highest standards in luxurious and relaxing spa experiences, with an extensive treatment menu, also within the Spa Health club is a 10m pool, sauna, steam room and two gymnasiums with high tech equipment.

About the Position

We are looking for a Part Time Leisure Assistant/Receptionist to be an integral part of our Leisure team. Reporting to the Leisure Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the day to day running of the reception desk, welcoming guests, handling enquiries, taking reservations, showing guests around facilities, ensuring the facilities are well maintained and providing detailed information about Spa services and products and taking appointments for Spa Treatments. You will also be required to handle gym/membership enquiries, checks on the cleanliness of the changing rooms, sauna, steam room, gym and pool and opening and closing the Spa/Gym.

The role is 30 hours a week comprising of early and late shifts and weekends.

About You

  • Ideally you will have reception or reservation experience within a Spa or gym, salon, hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Passionate about creating the very best guest experience, – customer service will be at the forefront of your mind at all times. Warm and welcoming to our Leisure Club Members, Hotel residents and Spa guests.
  • You’ll bring enthusiasm, experience, organization skills and strong team working spirit to the role here at The Spa.
