Kitchen Porter

Hours – Full time, including evenings and weekends. Shifts are 8am – 4.30pm or 2pm – 10.30pm.

Company Overview – The Spa Hotel is a family run, 4 star hotel with 70 bedrooms and a beautiful Spa. With 8 event spaces, a beautiful outside wedding temple and 14 acres of stunning grounds our hotel is always busy with a variety of guests.

The Role – You will be an integral part of a very fast paced Kitchen team, with a restaurant open 7 days a week and events taking place daily. You will need to have the highest level of cleanliness and keep your workstation well organised as you are responsible for all dishwashing throughout your shift and kitchen cleaning.

You are a crucial member of the team which allows the hotel to operate efficiently. You will also be interacting with all staff members of different levels and assisting our experienced kitchen team as necessary. This is a great introduction to working within a dedicated and skilled kitchen.

This Role may also include 2 out of the 5 Days assisting our housekeeping team as Linen Porter.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Loading and unloading the dishwasher and washing up
  • Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen storeroom areas and ensuring they remain tidy
  • General maintenance of operating equipment, such as dish washing machines and hand washing stations– reporting any issues
  • Assisting in some basic food preparation
  • Work with the kitchen team to provide an excellent service to our guests • Assisting with receiving deliveries storing food properly and rotation of stock
  • Inspect and correctly store all cleaned items rewashing if necessary
  • Clean and mop all kitchen floor areas as required
  • Follow company health and safety and food hygiene policies
  • Assisting as Linen Porter when required

Knowledge and Experience

Previous experience within this role is desirable but not essential. You must be reliable and energetic. We are looking for a team player, who can work quickly and has a good attention to detail.

Commis Chef

Hours – Full time, including evenings and weekends. 

Company Overview – The Spa Hotel is a family run, 4 star hotel with 70 bedrooms and a beautiful Spa. With 8 event spaces, a beautiful outside wedding temple and 14 acres of stunning grounds our hotel is always busy with a variety of guests.

The Role -You will be an integral part of our experienced team of 12 leading the breakfast service 5 days a week including weekends. Providing hot plated breakfasts to order with fresh local ingredients to our 2 rosette restaurant and private dining rooms.

As Breakfast chef you will ensure all preparation is met for the continental buffet as well at the hot plated items and that the service of food is consistent and meets our high standards. You will pride yourself in the presentation of all dishes coming out of the kitchen.

After service, you will assist our Head Chef and Sous Chef to prepare fresh, local ingredients for our busy lunch service.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the preparation of fresh ingredients and delivering perfect presentation
  • Complying with our Health and Safety procedures and maintain an immaculate working area
  • Working to strict time schedules
  • Be fully aware of all dietary requirements and ingredients of our meals
  • Maintain clear communication between the Kitchen and other Departments.
  • Assisting in monitoring food stock levels

Knowledge and Experience

We are looking for someone with a passion for food someone who is eager to learn and want to push themselves.

Someone who is a real team player with a hands-on approach and excellent organisational skills. You must be able to work well under pressure with a strong attention to detail.

Hotel Receptionist

The Spa Hotel is a family run, 4 star hotel with 70 bedrooms and a beautiful Spa.

With 8 event spaces, a beautiful outside wedding temple and 14 acres of stunning grounds our hotel is always busy with a variety of guests.

The Role:

We are looking to recruit a friendly and enthusiastic Receptionist to join our busy reception team. You will be the first and last point of contact for all our guests so to be welcoming, approachable and well-presented is essential.

With 70 bedrooms occupied almost daily, efficient check ins and outs are a priority as well as being knowledgeable in all areas of the hotel and local area to assist with any guest queries. You will also manage the switchboard and assist with bedroom reservations.

You will work closely with all hotel departments and be responsible for payments and invoicing for all bedrooms. Working 5 days out of 7 on a rotational basis and the shift pattern does vary.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Welcoming guests with a friendly face at all times and checking them in and out of the hotel
  • Ensuring the smooth day to day running of the reception desk by following the sifts operating procedures
  • First point of contact for all guest enquiries via telephone, email and face to face.
  • Processing room reservations into the hotel system.  
  • Activate and reissue room keys
  • Liaising with all departments including the management team
  • Handling customer feedback/complaints as required.
  • Creating invoices taking payments and updating the system
  • Delivering pre-arranged welcome plates to guest bedrooms
  •  

Knowledge and Experience

Previous experience on Reception or in the hotel industry is desirable but not essential.
You must be passionate about customer service and work well under pressure whilst paying close attention to detail. Knowledge of Rezlynx, Microsoft office and Secure trading is preferable.
We are looking for a team player, someone who is computer literate and have excellent communication skills.
